The Master student from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology presented his bioinformatics internship and described a method for analysing single-cell RNA sequencing data

Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology held an interesting report on the international scientific internship of our master’s student. The student is participating in a remote internship in Germany, under the supervision of Wolfgang Huber at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg.

The topic of the student’s research is the analysis of single cells of the Drosophila intestine to determine the speed of RNA. This bioinformatics method allows us to study the dynamics of gene expression at the level of individual cells with high accuracy. The use of Drosophila as a model organism provides important data that can be used to understand similar processes in other organisms, including humans.

During the presentation, the master’s student shared the details of his research, talked about the methodology of single-cell analysis and its importance for modern biology. We are proud of the achievements of our master’s student!
