Fostering Inter-University Collaboration in Biotechnology: A Visit from SNAU to PNU

A meaningful meeting took place today at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, welcoming a distinguished guest from Sumy National Agrarian UniversityDr. Vladyslav Kovalenko, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Chemistry at the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Environmental Management.

During the visit, Dr. Kovalenko engaged in discussions with Dr. Viktor Husak (Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology) and Dr. Nadiia Riznychuk (Department of Biology and Ecology) regarding potential avenues for scientific and academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Key areas of focus included:

  • the identification and biotechnological cultivation of promising plant species for clonal propagation;
  • the development of resilient, high-yield plant varieties adapted to climate change;
  • the expansion of genetic resource banks for future scientific research and applications;
  • professional development initiatives through internships, knowledge exchange, and student practice programs;
  • the formulation of joint scientific projects aimed at achieving sustainable development, food security, and climate resilience.

This visit marks an important step toward strengthening academic partnerships across Ukrainian institutions and reinforces the role of science and innovation in the country’s path toward sustainability and prosperity.
